Shankill (Belfast, Northern Ireland)

wall painting.jpg

pic no 7:
I wasn't sure if I should enter this part of the city, as it is said that it might be dangerous for non-residents, especially for tourists. But I needed a picture of the facades of the houses.

Shankill is an area in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The area, and the Shankill Road in particular, is famous for being at the centre of the political tensions in Northern Ireland. The area is predominantly Protestant and neighbours the Catholic area of Falls Road.

Meanwhile there are a lot of projects running to get the conflicts between the protestants and catholics resolved.
